trench writing - week 7

i am blogging this because i love my trench writing

we were leaning to be in the war

Dear Wife,

Boom boom!’ A lot of bombing and shooting.
It was nearly time to go up the mountain it was so muddy in the ground.
“Men go to fight”
“Hurry hurry!”
Everyone is gone and I can see the army dropping to the ground and then shooting their guns atus. I can see a lot of puddles, of blood and water.
‘Boom!’ A gun spotted me. It is aiming right for me. I can hear it reloading and helmets dropping to the ground. It is smelly in the mud with the most dead bodies you have ever see. Also there are guts and blood all over the ground. As darkness comes in I can hear people crying themselves to sleep. It is so quiet, all I can hear is the crying of soldiers.
‘Boom boom!’ It is the shooting and killing. It is time for the runners to deliever letters that have come from home. People are dying, my best friends. I can hear screaming and yelling while the nurses are running to save them. ‘Squish squish.’ The mud is squashing under their feets. It looks painful
BANG. The gun shot is so close. I fall to the ground in shock. I can feel the blood squirting through my pants. My leg has been shot.
I wake up in the hospital. The pain is unbearable. I just want to go home.

Lots of love Amie
